Take a look at what we’re working on…
-Achieve a consistent approach to BIM into all architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) programmes in New Zealand.
-Use the BIM handbook and other national guidelines in course material.
-Establish national guidelines for BIM learning outcomes (download here) and guidance on how to adopt these.
-Collaborate on research projects to increase BIM adoption.
-Work closely with industry in educational and research activities.
-Monitor the above in tertiary education.
Ensuring the architects, engineers, and construction professionals of tomorrow are BIM capable is an important enabler of BIM adoption. Developing the teaching resource and assessments is a key step in delivering this. Sometimes this requires upskilling of academic staff too.
